Cute boots are essential!

While many peoples grass is turning green and flowers are growing we are still looking out the window to snow and brown trees! One thing I love about the spring time around here is when the trees start budding all at once and you see a green haze in the trees along the road side. We also have 5 seasons here. Summer, fall, winter break-up and spring. Break-up is a time when the snow melts and the ice breaks up on the rivers and everything is a sloppy, wet, muddy mess!! The dogs feet are muddy. Your feet are muddy. The cars are muddy. Everything is m-u-d-d-y muddy! So I can say spring is almost here, but not yet. We have to go through break-up first. The great thing about the muddy mess is cute mud boots! I myself own a super cute pair of mud boots that I just love wearing during break-up. It makes all the mess so much easier to handle when you are wearing cute boots :D :D So I was having a really hard time getting in the spring spirit for this challengs but I did it.

We were asked to use the Stretch Your Imagination Cricut cartridge and pick an image on pages62-69. I tried really hard to but just was not feeling imspired from thoes pages so I still stuck with the cartridge just picked a diff image.

I laid it all out on my Gypsy and then onto my mat and cut them out.

Layered up my card

Assembled my layered pices for my card (the sky and grass were done with green and blue ink)

Started to glue them all together

And added a little pink glitter to the mix!

Easel Card

I was really excited to get working on this weeks project. I had bought 2 new DCWV stacks and just needed a reason to start to use them. I went with Mariposa and Botanicals because they are something I dont normally go for so I figured I would step out of my 'box' (ok its not really a box, box its more like an octigone or maybe a rhumbus or maybe it is a box but just with a few dents in it, but what ever it was I was stepping out or actually more like tripping and fall on the way out HAHAHHA..ooops back to the project) ok where was I oh ok yah going outside the box...and I dont normally take the time to cut images out of the paper but for this project I was going all out! I got into my stash of Core'dinations paper and paired it with my DCWV and the results were perfect!!
Cout out a 6x6 card and folded up my easel card and then glued the front pannel on

Placed my paper on my mat after configuring the layout on my Gypsy

Laid out my layers

Started to glue it all together using Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots and Zig 2-way

Luck-O-Da-Irish

Ever since I can remember we have celebrated St. Pattys Day. My maternal Grandmother is from England and it was a big deal with her to celebrate the holiday. We were always dressed in not only green but orange. When I was a wee child my mum would make us corned beef, cabbage and green mashed potatoes. I have since carried on that tradition and I continue to make my kids the same meal! I even add a little bit-o-color (food coloring) to their apple juice or milk to turn it green. I was not about to let this holiday go by with out creating a fabulous craft to go along with it. Bobbi Jo asked me to come up with the challenge for this week so I said GREEN!! Create something green for St Pattys day and oh yah for a spin add newspaper or newsprint :D (I totally had this project in mind so I was kinda cheating but...shhhhhh....dont tell anyone...our secret ok?) I found this idea in one of my many hours spend browsing Etsy. I took the idea and made it my own! It took me a little bit to get the construction of it down but once I figured it out it was easy! I took down my 'Let It Snow' banner and hung this one proudly in its place. Have a wonderful St Pattys Day!!
